Remodeling of the Chapel For nearly two years plans and preparations have been underway for the remodeling of the chapel. Most of the work is now complete and you will notice that above we have included some photographs of the changes. The entire chapel and narthex have been repainted and carpeted. The chancel has been reconfigured. A new communion rail and new pews have been installed. We have included pictures of the following: views of the newly reconfigured chancel the new communion rail and refinished pulpit views from the chancel views from the choir views of the new pews and frontal screens Missionary From Brazil Judy King will speak during the Sunday School hour (9:30 a.m.) and will bring greetings in the Worship Service on November 17, 2002. An offering will be received to support her work in Brazil. Domestic Missions Keep in your prayers the work of the Board of National Church Extension (B.N.C.E.), the Rt. Rev. Royal U. We appreciate your support of this annual effort to help those in need. Advent begins Sunday, December 1, 2002. Community Thanksgiving Service November 27, 2002, 7:30 p.m., Faith Christian Reformed Church, 8383 171st St., Tinley Park, IL. Feast of St. Andrew Saturday, November 30, 2002. Pot luck dinner at 6:30 p.m. Evening Prayer at 7:30 p.m. The offering will go to World Relief to help feed and clothe the world’s needy. This is in support of World Relief’s annual Day of Hope. Spaghetti Dinner The Spaghetti Dinner will be held on November 7, 2002 between 5-7 p.m. in the Parish Hall. Adults $6.00, 12 and under, $3.00 Sponsored by the Woman’s Guild. A Thanksgiving Day Prayer Lord, thou hast indeed been bountiful. As we look back over the years, how gracious thou hast been, how tender thy mercy, how warm and constant thy love. Create within us, our Father, that true gratitude that shall make this day of Thanksgiving one of rededication, when we shall think not of how much we can eat but of how thankful we ought to be. So may we -- all across this land today -- act as recipients of God's richest mercy and bountiful blessing, as we share with others. May we, in gratitude, get on with the job of creating not only a nation but a world in which all men shall have the right to seek happiness. Help us to make that dream come true in our homes day by day, in street and office and school, and so to live that thou shalt be able to bless us and bless the nation for which we pray.
